The blue tee on this hole is perched atop a large outcrop of bedrock; the tee shot gives the player an awesome view of one of the courses' signature holes. The fairway is lined with hardwoods down both sides and the left side of the fairway drops off dramatically to a creek below. The landing area is elevated and sets up a mid-iron second shot to a green well below. Take one less club here, as the elevation will shorten the yardage.
If the conditions are right, the big hitter can drive through the landing area allowing the ball to roll down to the second level of the fairway in front of the green making the second shot considerably easier.
The green is elevated from the lower portion of the fairway and is well protected by bunkers and mounding this giving the player a very intimidating view for the second shot. The green's generous size allows for ample pin placement possibilities. The green slopes gently toward the player and can be tricky if a putt is played from above the pin.
Stay to the right side while playing this hole and making a good score will be much easier.
