#12 - PAR 5

A converted Par 4, this shorter Par 5 creates many challenges for the player. The tee shot is best played slightly right centre of the fairway to a landing area that moves slightly downhill. The longer hitter can reach the 200-yard marker without much problem. The player is faced with two options; one to play over a large pond situated in front of the green with a long iron or wood or play conservatively to the right side of the pond. The conservative choice will set up a third shot that will require only a short pitch to the green.
The long hitter is certainly faced with the making the right decision here as many a ball has found a watery grave from a poorly hit long iron or wood on the second shot.
The putting green is long and narrow with a swale running through the middle. Bunkers guard the right side and rear of the green and mounding protects the left side. There is plenty of room behind this hole so making sure your shot clears the water is the smart choice.
The putting surface moves up hill gradually from the front of the green to the middle then moves down hill towards the back of the green. Be careful when the pin is cut tight to the front of the green, as the water looms close by.
