RCGA® Course Ratings and SLOPE Ratings
For: Men . Certified By Golf Association of Ontario by : Craig Loughry . Director of Handicapping . Date : 2/12/06 . |
EXPLANATION: A RCGA Course Rating is the RCGA's evaluation of the playing difficulty of a course for scratch golfers under normal course and weather conditions for the purpose of providing a uniform basis on which to use RCGA Handicap Factors. It is expressed as strokes taken to one decimal place, and is based on yardage and other obstacles to the extent that they affect the scoring of a scratch golfer. A RCGA SLOPE Rating evaluates the relative playing difficulty of a course for players who are not scratch golfers. The lowest RCGA SLOPE Rating is 55 and the highest is 155. A golf course of standard playing has a RCGA SLOPE Rating of 113. RCGA Course Ratings, and Handicap Factors are service marks owned by the RCGA and may only be used in connection with the RCGA Handicap System. |
